I really enjoyed reading this novel as it beautifully tells the story of the book's titular protagonist Zaid, while also sending strong and positive messages such as the importance of the peaceful resolution of conflicts, and the importance of "the village" or community that is instrumental to the development of adolescents into productive members of society. I was genuinely surprised while reading the novel, as it is full of characters that are richly developed, and is full of surprises in the story or plot, surprises that are not cliche or easy to guess. The novel is emotionally touching and took me through a range of emotions while reading. It is a love story, a coming of age story and much more. Gamertag: AbuzzGoose90193
