Nice, light, romantic story, good plot twists. Great for recreational reading even if a little predictable. I will certainly read the other books in the series just to see what happens to the very likeable characters.

Don't let the austere cover fool you on this one! I've loved this book since the first time I read ten years ago. It has the right combination of gothic mystery, hilarious conversations, and romance. You'll laugh out loud when you read the dialogue between the Duchess and Marcus (the rascal Earl) and one truly unflappable valet by the name of Spears. I've re-read it so often I've had to purchase it several times...thank goodness for e-books. I highly recommend this book.

I've never read Catherine Coulter and don't read a lot of historical romance, but I enjoyed this. Most of the book was banter between the Duchess and Marcus, and you found yourself cheering them to succeed. And Aunt Wilhelmina was just about the best "evil relative" I've ever read -- more comic relief than anything else. The "Wyndham Legacy" was mostly just a diversion from the love story, but the ending was a surprise.

Audionook - Extremely long, repetitive and not very interesting to me.

Catherine Coulter always creates great characters and great stories. The Wyndham Legacy introducess us to the Duchess and Marcus. Both have known eacher since they were children, but Marcus has no idea just how strong the Duchess is and how much she loves him. The Duchess goes out of her way to protect Marcus and there legacy while dealing with uninvited guest and a killer. In between all the drama we get to see Marcus and the Dutchess fall in love with the help of there loyal servents as well as find a treasure that is a the root of some of there problems.
