Overview

This talented pair celebrates the work ethic with sensitivity and grace—and reminds us of the quiet dignity that exists in everyday lives. People at work, doing things that are so essential to us all, are lyrically depicted in Gary Paulsen's spare and elegant verse and in Ruth Wright Paulsen's richly textured oil paintings.

The smooth-flowing text is just enough to highlight the beautiful oil paintings illustrating different jobs/occupations. There is equal representation of men and women throughout the book. Would like to have seen more cultures represented.
