Ignore the reviews of those who haven't read it that are in here. This book was released on 9/12 not 9/11 so that person did not read it. Brilliant insight into the behind the scenes of what was the most tumultuous election of my times. Clinton writes in ways that amuse and entertain you but also gives you real insight into how difficult this campaign really was. We watched it on tv and read about it in the papers, but it is a breath of fresh air to hear real accounts of what happened from someone who can recall it all and express it in a way that allows us all to understand and view what was beyond us at the time.

Funny how Clinton haters respond to this. The book is historical perspective. She is polarizing. Good read.

Well written by a Yale Law School graduate, former Secretary of State, First Lady, Senator and public servant since she was 19. Encouraging. Inspirational Most of these reviewers commented before the book was published on September 12, 2017. So, just ignore the haters In the past 9 months all of what Hillary tried to tell people throughout her campaign has been proven true. Trumps claims, vicious accusations and mad man antics.

I actually read this book trying to find a way to like this person despite all that your read and hear about her. I mean, no one can be truly as bad as how they are depicted by the MSM, right? I wanted to feel bad for her as she truly portrayed herself as someone who cared about so many issues that face our country despite hearing she was in this race because she DESERVED to be President. I wanted so badly to find an ounce of humanity in her....Well, I didn't. After reading this book and trying to fairly give her a shot, I am at a loss. She took "cheap shots" at just about anyone she felt was a fair target. She truly depicts herself as better than others and her words drip with condescending tones, narcissism and an overall attitude of entitlement. Her choice of words and phrasing will leave one seeing that HRC truly thinks she is superior to those she was to serve. The fact that she refuses to look in the mirror and hold herself accountable should not shock anyone who reads this.

She has pretty much given her life to public service. I respect her and this is a great book..loved it..this book is not sugar-coated.. very real feelings expressed...

I can't do it. Somehow I forced myself to get through the initial mindless drivel to make it to page 145, then had to send it to the cloud. I was hoping to find out what she thought really "happened," but so far have only gotten a lesson on the travails of womanhood. As a woman myself, I can't stand when some attach the stigma of "victim" to "woman" and then claim to be strong and indepedent. Stop crying foul, embrace the challenges of being a woman, take responsibility for your actions/decisions and move on. You say you have, but after several chapters, I'm not so sure. Unfortunately, this is such a bad read that I will never know :(

Worth the read . Ignore the hateful remarks. She does take responsibility for her loss. I also agree with the assessment of coverage of the campaign. She will make you laugh and cry!

A look behind the scenes of an election like no other. I found the sectiin on women particularly fascinating. Ultimately inspiratiinal look at a smart, thoughtful, deeply committed woman.

Well-written, informative, and in may ways ... painful. This is Hillary's story and she is allowed to tell it any way she wants to tell the story. The 2016 election was a nightmare for many reasons; Trump, Comey, Sanders, and those who have "hated" Hillary for more than 25 years. Bravo for the courage to tell her own version.

Well written, heartfelt account of the oftentimes nightmare that was the 2017 presidential election. Thank you, Mrs. Clinton for the grit and courage and class you displayed during one of the darkest of hours the U.S.A.

Apart from determining if the information in the book was legible or not, it seems very candid. A few things were interesting to know, and to realize how they changed the course of history.

Compelling. The most honest book out there.

In her book, Hillary Clinton constantly talks about taking responsibility and then continues to blame anyone but herself for her mistakes. She also preaches unity and patriotism, and then has nothing but degrading, spiteful things to say about those who disagreed with her in anyway. I understand that failure is hard and even mortifying, but take responsibility for YOUR mistakes. Blaming others is what children do when they throw a tantrum.

I wish everyone who thinks they know Hillary and who dislike her would read this book with an open mind. I've always liked and respected her and now even more so. It is deeply unsettling that such a deplorable man is sitting in the White House today instead of Hillary. This strange new world is very scary. Hillary is a remarkable woman for living through the deeply flawed politics of public service. Thank you, Hillary, for all you've accomplished.

Whether you're a fan of Hillary or not, it's hard not to be saddened by the events surrounding the election and all she was up against. The political system is clearly broken. Her account oh what happened should give us all pause.

Really, thought it is well written, It is so out of touch. are you serious is titling this What Happened. You have put blame everywhere. I was totally disappointed as this book was given to me to read, Sorry I gave it a one, because it appears to be fictionalized more than fact.

I tried to read this book, in hopes of finding something to like about this woman. It didn't work, I still can't find a thing to like about her and wasted my time with this boring book. gah, horrid
