"Humans are very adaptable: We can still fix this. But the opportunity to do so will not last for long. We must start today. We have no more excuses" GRETA THUNBERG
Follow in the footsteps of the Swedish teenage activist and Nobel Peace Prize candidate in We Are All Greta and join the global mission to save our planet from climate change.
Greta Thunberg, author of No One is too Small to Make a Difference, has directed the attention of adults and her peers alike to issues crucial to the future of the planet, and the heads of even the youngest children have been filled with questions. GLOBAL WARMING, THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT, FOSSIL FUELS - what do they all mean? What are biodiversity and sustainable development? Who is studying the changes that are taking place here on Earth? Which sources are reliable? What action can I take?
We Are All Greta sets out the basic ideas required to understand climate change, explained in a scientific and accessible way and drawn from the most authoritative sources. With a chapter on key words and sites to help you understand the climate challenge and a list of websites to visit for further information, this is a book for young people, for parents, for grandparents and anyone having to answer direct and urgent questions about what must be done to protect our world.

This is a short book explaining how Greta got started on her drive to change the world, climate change, and ways to reduce waste. I quite enjoyed this book. It does a great job at expressing how important it is to take action now against climate change and to push lawmakers to do something. I really recommend reading this book. It's a great start on understanding climate change and some basic things people can do to help reduce waste. *ARC provided by Netgalley for an honest review.*
Up until I heard how hard Greta worked to get to New York without flying, I had never heard of her. This book explains her background, as well as ways to fight climate change, big and small. Since we have only about 12 years before climate change is irreversible, this is a very timely book. Well written, with examples of what to do, as well as what has to happen, and what has happened. Highly recommended. Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
We Are All Greta is a great book that teaches about the causes of climate change and what we as stewards of the planet can do to take care of our home. The book is thorough in its exploration of the science behind climate change and its solutions without being overwhelming and the visuals are bold and vibrant. The book has a hopeful tone and is suitable for late elementary school kids and beyond. Adults are sure to learn a thing or two as well! Highly recommend for purchase.
"Our biosphere is being sacrificed so that rich people in countries like mine (GT) can live in luxury. It is the suffering of the many which will pay for the luxuries of the few...We need to focus on equity." This sums up so much of the drive behind this entire issue. The people and corporations that want to ignore this as a problem are willingly doing so by disregarding the clear science and out of greed. Meanwhile the inequity grows larger. This will only hasten the problem rather than help it. As was pointed out, one of the key factors in mass immigration is climate change. No longer having a climate that allows stability, growth of crops, clean water, access to adequate food and jobs all become the driving forces behind violence and migration patterns. The increase in climate disasters add to this as well. This is an informative, well written book. It has terrific illustrations and a good, simple message about our personal ability to act in a way that can make positive change. I feel like the message is appropriately written for the intended audience as well as adults who are interested in this topic and need a synopsis. What great courage and intelligence to develop a plan and move forward as Greta is doing. We should all be Greta. Highly Recommend. #WeAreAllGreta #NetGalley #LaurenceKingPub
