Fascinating page turner that delicately cuts through the issue of race relations. This is my fleshly brother's book, so admittedly my review may be a little biased, but I start with my critique first, which is simply there are some grammatical errors that could have been avoided with editing. Minus one star for that shortcoming. Short of that, this book is beautifully written, there is a familiarity and thorough exploration of all of the main characters. You do care what happens to the characters for good or for bad. You want the good characters to receive justice and the bad characters to get what's coming to them and the author, Curtis Jackson, delivers wonderfully. I felt very satisfied with the ending and there were no loose ends to tie up-- which I hate in stories. This is a story about race relations, a sensitive topic, which Curtis handles expertly. There is a lot to learn from this book and it causes one to reflect on the role they play in society towards supporting equitable treatment for people of all races. This is a page turner. Go out and buy it and you will be richly rewarded. Yes, I rated it 5 stars because its message is, sadly, very relevant to the times we're living in.

Waiting for Regina by Curtis W. Jackson is a wonderful novel that I read recently. It made me enjoy my leisure time and made me think about my past and childhood. This novel is filled with flashbacks and dialogues making it lively, convincing and highly understandable. Mixed with a passion for family the tale flows entertaining the reader. Mispha's letter to the black girl Regina is really mind opening and I highly enjoyed this. My wish is not to exploit the thrill, curiosity and anxiety of reading the reading so I won't detail any further. I recommend this as a must read for everyone.
