If you lived in a world that decided your future, who you would love...what would you fight for?

Twell lives in the new world of Como, and has always neglected her telekinetic gifts, desiring to be 'normal.' Her biggest drama in life is having to be genetically partnered with a boy she doesn't know or love by her next birthday. Unfortunately she loves her best friend, who loves the girl she hates most, and Twell is left frustrated & heartbroken.

When Twell is requested alongside several other teens to develop her skills for the protection of Como, she reluctantly agrees to the training, and finds herself thrown into all sorts of mental and physical challenges.

Handsome, charismatic Jonaz, is gifted with the power of healing. According to Twell he's an infuriating prat who delights in provoking her. But first impressions have always been her downfall.

When Como is attacked, life as Twell knows it is changed forever, with devastating consequences. With no choice but to fight, Twell risks her life to protect those who have survived, coming up against unexpected dangers she could never anticipate. Will she survive, and if so will she be matched to a stranger when the one she is growing to love is destined to another?

About the Author

Kate O’Leary, has loved reading and writing ever since she was young enough to try and get through the back of her cupboard into Narnia, or through her mirror into Wonderland! In high school she entertained her homeroom reading out chapters of her first novel ‘Miranda’ about a teenage girls adventures with her horse Rusty.

After school Kate studied Children's Literature, and her first drafts of Twell were awarded in writing competitions. Kate’s writing interest is firmly embedded in dystopian fantasy, being continually fascinated with the future direction of our world and the concepts of free will and moral vs. lawful obligations. Twell’s adventures will continue to explore these ideas in the Como Chronicles Trilogy.

Kate lives in the beautiful Adelaide Hills of Australia, surrounded by rolling hills and wineries and horses, as well as some good rocks to climb when she feels like scaring herself!

Twell and the Army of Powers is the first book in the Como Chronicles. It gives us an in-depth view into the lives of those who live there, how their lives are regulated, what is forbidden, and what isn't. Twell is the main character, and the story is told from her perspective, and yet is still rounded out enough that you don't feel like you are missing out on anything. Twell is a bit of a brat at the start of the book, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Her character grows in ways unforeseen, by her own actions and by the 'gentle' advice from her friends. All of the characters have grit though, whether you like them or not. There is not a weak character amongst them, and they all grow and change throughout the book. There is so much I want to say about this book, but won't in case of spoilers. Things happened that I never saw coming; my heart was broken on more than one occasion; it jumped into my mouth as I desperately held onto hope (even knowing that the author wouldn't make it so easy). The story is concise and gripping, thrilling and action-packed, ending on a cliffhanger that had me shouting out "NO!" even though I had already suspected the outcome! This is a fantastic Young Adult Dystopian story with a dash of romance, that is guaranteed to enthral the reader. Absolutely recommended by me. * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

This is the first book by this author that I have read. It is also the first book of the genre I have read. I won a copy of the book in a giveaway, and when I first started reading it, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it or not, but I actually loved the book, so much so that I went and bought it and the next book in the series. It follows Twell, a young girl who was orphaned as an infant. Twell lives on Como and has special powers that their governing body says can help their world against attack. So Twell and some other gifted teens start training in preparation for joining Como's army. The book has a bit of everything. A bit of young love, suspense, action, and a small cliffhanger, which is okay since book two is out. Looking forward to getting stuck into book two now.

This book is truly exceptional book, and it needs as much notice as it can get so more people aren't missing out on it. I love the author and how she took you to another world in the book. The author made characters that are easy to like or dislike. There splashes of suspense, some mystery, some romance and some comedy. It's a very well rounded book. Looking forward to book two.

Just a perfect new Dystopian book that you must read now! Twell is in love with her best friend. Unfortunately he loves the girl she hates the most. She requests then to develop her skills to protect the new world of Como, she goes into training with mental and physical challenges and meets Jonaz, an infuriating guy that likes to provoke her. Then Como is attacked and everything changes.  This book is one of the best YA I’ve read so far this year, it kept me on edge and I just finished screaming for more. Kate O’Leary is an amazing writer, you just devour the book and I’m more than looking forward to the next one. Please let it be soon!
