I admit it, I am a Calvin and Hobbes fan since the series was originally drawn. Reading any of the compilations of Calvin and Hobbes shows Watterson had more than just an appreciation of children growing up, he created so much more than just drawing a funny cartoon series-- He was also able to express childhood and child development on many levels simultaneously, from many perspectives at the same time, and that is very rare. You can go from a humorous cartoon strip of typical childish deviltry in the form of water ballons to Calvin trying to understand the real meaning of life, trying to understand and deal with the death of a small sick animal he found. All of the books are highly recommended, but any one of them will provide a joy of life seen mostly through the eyes of a six year old, and frequently his ever coping parents. Parents and children will find many laughs in any of these books.

Calvin and Hobbes have always been one of my favorite funnies and I have to say that I am sorry that they are no longer in the 'funny' pages of our papers. This book brings back so many wonderful memories and it made me laugh all the way through. This is one of those funny books that will take you back to your childhood as well and get you to thinking of when you were full of mischief and you will laugh out loud just like I did. Get it and any and all of His other books and just sit back and forget the trials and tribulations of the world we live in today. zsteddybear

Even if it wouldn't be a good idea to do some of these things it sure is great to think about the possibility. And oh what fun. And if you really want to annoy your mother just keep reading them out loud to her. She will think that is great.
