From How to Build a Huge Following on Pinterest:

On Pinterest, think about the adventure and exploration of what you do. How is your bakery different? What are the stories of your recipes? Photos of your customers? Great times spent baking? Fun experiments with flavor? Events where your cakes and pastries are enjoyed? Places and people in your community?

Constantly benchmark back to your adjectives from questions 1 and 2. Generously pin your customers and events in your area. Think of Pinterest as you keeping your extended family of friends, customers, and potential customers up to date with how you are, how the bakery is doing, and the adventures of your business. Let people get to know you. Be sincere. Be available.

Yes, you’ll be loading images from your computer. Yes you’ll be pinning images of others. Don’t wander off into the many cool images that don’t continue your message...

From Quicklet on Geoffrey A. Moore's Crossing the Chasm:

Since its first publication in 1991, Geoffrey Moore’s Crossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling High Tech Products to Mainstream Customers has set the standard for tech business moguls. In fact, it has become the standard for all of us trying to make our way in the confusing world of technology business.

Moore argues that there is a chasm that exists between early adopters of a potentially disruptive technology product and what he calls the “early majority,” or the market segment that takes such a product to the upper ranges of success. Moore believes that early adopters and visionaries have very different expectations than the pragmatists that follow. In this book, he explores those differences and suggests specific techniques to successfully cross the "chasm."

These include choosing a target market, understanding the whole product concept, positioning the product, building a successful marketing strategy, and choosing the most appropriate distribution channel and pricing.

From The Best Book on Marketing Your Android App:

So what if you’re a ninja coder?

So what if you’ve created an app that’s both revolutionary and useful?

It doesn’t matter. You won’t get sales unless you know how to market it.

I can show you how. I’ve been through the entire process, and I’ve succeeded where most others fail.

Don’t repeat their mistakes.

That’s why I wrote The Best Book On Marketing Your Android App. That title may strike you as presumptuous, but I stand behind my advice. And I guarantee that you won’t be able to find better advice anywhere else.
