A YALSA-ALA Excellence in Young Adult Nonfiction Award Finalist
A breathtaking and dramatic account of the JFK assassination by the NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author of CHASING LINCOLN'S KILLER!

In his new young-adult book on the Kennedy assassination, James Swanson will transport readers back to one of the most shocking, sad, and terrifying events in American history. As he did in his bestselling Scholastic YA book, CHASING LINCOLN'S KILLER, Swanson deploys his signature "you are there" style -- a riveting, ticking-clock pace, with an unprecedented eye for dramatic details and impeccable historical accuracy -- to tell the story of the JFK assassination as it has never been told before.

The book is illustrated with archival photos, diagrams, source notes, bibliography, places to visit, and index.

From THE LOST KINGDOM
The bear-wolf stood on its hind legs, looked up at us, and slammed both of its front paws against the ship's hull with its full weight. The de Terzi jolted, and I felt the reverberation through my boots.
"We don't have two minutes!" my father shouted. "That thing is strong enough to crack the hull!"
The bear-wolf heaved itself against the ship a second time, and I heard the sound of wood splintering.
"I'm working as fast as I can!" Mr. Faries shouted. "Someone take the helm!"
Mr. Kinnersley raced to the controls. "I'll do it!"
"Wait for my mark!" Mr. Faries said.
The ship thundered with a third blow from the bear-wolf. The animal roared, and something in it sounded triumphant. Almost as if it had realized it was breaking through.
"Mr. Faries?" my father said.
"Now!" Mr. Faries said, letting a rope lose in his harness. I shouted in alarm as he plummeted toward the deck, but he pulled the rope tight just as he was about to hit and stopped his fall.
Mr. Kinnersley threw a lever, and the de Terzi eased upward out of the bear-wolf's reach. We all looked over the edge, watching the animal grow smaller as our ship moved slowly down the river, and I began to feel safe enough to relax a little. But the bear-wolf pursued us, never taking its eyes from us as it stalked down the riverbank, parallel with the ship.

Fake assassination. JFK killing video is fake. and if there were any witness on that day their voice won't be heard. well coordinated. Bush sr was there at the hospital maknig sure the plan works well. so much a stake. there is some geo-politics in this drama. Bg oil, saudi. Aristotle onaiss ambition to own the Americna oil instead of Gulf Aramco. so it appears by staging this fake killing. Jackie was also datign aristotle the greek shipping tycoon and then married him after JFK death. she is actually a trojan horse of "CIA" . and soon later Aristotle's son and succesor is killed in a plane crash. his empire is doomed. and saudi arabia wins. Meanwhile (Mobster- today's obama/bush/clinton) JFK has secretly escaped with marilyn monroe. How do i know? This is my conclusion based on all evidence on public domain, and after seeing the JKF movie by kevin costner. there is one scene where the secret service people are asked to go on leave. so a cover up.e.

Appropriate for grades 7-12, this wonderful book has lots of appeal for teen readers--short chapters, plenty of photographs, and easy-to-read maps that help tell the fascinating story.  The majority of the book relates details of those four days in November 1963 when panic and uncertainty were the norms for many Americans.  The placement of black-and-white photos, from the well-known shots of John, Jr. saluting his father's casket and of the fatal shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald to a series of photographs taken quickly  in succession after JFK was shot, go a long way in giving readers an understanding of the events of the day.  Noteworthy is the "Diagrams, Photos, and Illustrations" section at the end of the book; so too are the source  notes for each section.  Simply superb!
