Mr. Potter has put in a colossal amount of research into his book, and covers his subject well. He illustrates the history of the SULTANA and the corruption frequently connected with issuance of government contracts well. The book suffers from the great many characters introduced, some with the same name and referred to in different ways as you go along. For example, a character's military rank is used and then not used when next referred to. This especially confusing when generic names like 'Smith' are involved. The book also made no use of the endpapers when diagrams of the SULTANA for example, would have been very useful.
