3.5 stars I had read and enjoyed the previous book in this series, so I was all in on this one. I really liked Vivi and Finn. I loved their connection and their loyalty. I especially liked the past and present chapters so we were able to see their relationship grow and shift. In the present, Vivi’s grown tougher and Finn’s always been a partial marshmallow. It was interesting to see how their dynamic shifted after the years apart. And of course I loved seeing Gillie and Thorne. Plot wise, it was a bit angstier than I was expecting. There were a few things that I saw coming, but wasn’t sure how they would play out. Because of those things, scenes felt drawn out and slight repetitive. There’s a lot of history and hurt and the majority of the book is them trying to work through it and see if they can salvage something. Overall, I do love this family of characters and while I wanted more fluff, this was a great story about a second chance. **Huge thanks to Avon Books for providing the arc free of charge**
