About the Author

Through landing opportunities with Atlantic Records and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide very early, Lillie Mae established a keen interest in media and entertainment while completing a Communications Studies degree at UNC Chapel Hill. She now manages a multi-faceted portfolio of work as President/Founder of Lillie Mae Public Relations. Over the past seven years her Public Relations efforts have extended nationally for client placements with USA Today, The Mo'Nique Show, The Hollywood Reporter and Yahoo News. Her diverse pursuits have allowed for a uniquely positioned brand as both a media and pr entity. In the latter of 2012, she partnered with the Microsoft Atlanta Store to present her inaugural "PR Power Up Workshop Series" to teach creative business owners and emerging PR professionals the latest and most effective PR/Media/Branding strategies. With guest speakers from CNN, Associated Press & various media outlets, the series generated a huge buzz and will continue in 2014. She's also sponsored her services for various philanthropic efforts including the 2nd annual Fashion & Philanthropy series, 2012 Susan G. Komen Pink Soiree, the 5th Annual Celebration For a Cause Cancer Awareness Initiative and UPTOWN Magazine's PROJECT13.

Lillie Mae most recently launched the Giving Is Glam campaign to encourage charity work among women and The Lillie Mae Radio Show on Love860AM. She will continue to permeate the industry with great innovation as a media, pr and branding specialist.

The PR Code is a must read for any aspiring Public Relations students and business owners. It overviews the basic principles of PR and tells how to build a strong presence in your desired realm. One should definitely have a copy of the PR Code on hand.

As a student, I find The PR Code really refreshing. I'm usually reading textbooks that aren't as helpful to my hopes of learning more of the PR field. It is quick and to the point, but, for me, that is just what I've been looking for! I can easily reference the book for either some quick pointers on how to deal with a situation or a refresher on strategies I've completely forgotten about. This is definitely something I'll be keeping on hand for both my career as a student and a PR professional!
