What’s in it Egg? After reading the exhaustive and definitive stories behind the original Star Wars films, this book seems like a bit of a shallow dive; however, since I never dared to hope that a book like this would exist in the first place, I still found myself more than satisfied delving into what is slowly becoming my favorite film of all time. This book has nowhere near the breadth and scope of the giant “Making of” Star Wars books, I suppose there is no Big Trouble in Little China archive, but it does have plenty of candid photos I’ve never seen before (my favorite being the one on the back cover of John Carpenter chopping himself in the neck with an axe while Kurt Russell looks on) plus present-day recollections from the cast and crew. If you are a huge fan of this movie you probably know most of the stuff already, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth reading. Wait until you find out how much it cost to design and build the Guardian creature! A nice reference for the dedicated fan.
