Not really sure why anyone would buy all 5 books together, or even the first 4 books in the set, because it is MUCH cheaper to buy each nook book *separately*. Buying all *5* separately is $36 ($1 less than the 4 book set) and buying the first 4 separately is $29. Anyway, good series though. Just buy them separately! You'll spend an extra $10 if you buy the set!

I really enjoy this series and am currently working on the Internal Devices series by Cassandra Clare which follows the same story but in a previous time period. My only disappointment is I bought the set to have it because it is one of those I will read again but the box the books are kept in was pretty damaged when it arrived so that was upsetting, in addition they released the set early in the stores but held off sending out the online order until after the 23rd when I pre-ordered in August. Those who pre-order should get their order fulfilled before you release in store to be fair. So ordering created concerns but the books are a great read.

I am not one to get obsessed or emotional whrm reading a book but Cassandra Clare gave me no other choice. I read the first 5 of the mortal instrament series in 3 days and was sad that I have to wait a year for the sixth book to be released. But just when I thought I was going to have to write the author and plead for her to move up the reease day I found the infernal device trilogy and let me tell you that if you enjoy the imortal instrament series you will LOVE the infernal device series. When I thought that there was no way to get more attaced to characters I found that I was wrong. Thank you Cassandra Clare for this amazing world that u have created and shared with the rest of us.

The Mortal Instruments is a young adult paranormal romance/urban fantasy, set in a colorful version of our reality where humans walk unaware of not just the vampires, werewolves, fey and warlocks, but also demons and their part-human enemies - the Shadowhunters. The books are fast flowing with vivid characters, a lot of action, and interesting twists.

Thanks Ms. Clare! my eyes are now still hurts from intensive reading... kinda wished I get graded for this cos I would have got a AAA!!  for finishing all of 5 books in 7 days, between going to school and some last min papers.  I say tonight I will get some sleep, but my sweet friend reminded me that there are pre-qual... LOL I needed to wait for summer... would be better! We will see if I could wait or not... LOLOL  I'm jealous!! I want Jace.. where can i find a guy like that !!? Bad boys always more commit when they are in love... problem is they usually are not LOL

I've never been the type who liked reading about werewolves and vampires. But this series presents old myths into a new perspective. The Mortal Instrements is definetly a book i'd recomend.

well...I never really got the hype about this hexalogy (thats the proper term for a six book series) and honestly, its not as great as people think it is, most of the characters are well underdeveloped, the world building is incomplete and really all I got from this was a bad taste in my mouth, I don't get why its so popular. but hey, I might have disliked it, but that does not mean I'm not telling people not to read them, I just warn them that "if you're going to read this book, just be careful I wasn't and my eyes are just barely recovering. so while I liked the Infernal Devices, I just found the Mortal Instruments Hexalogy to be land, predicable and overall cheap. However thats only a personal preference it does not define the books, just what I got from them, and for some of my reader friends who I know would hate these, I warn them to stay away from them. What I find questionable is the things like incest and rape that are not topics to be walked on lightly as this, but I9 found it offensive and just plain upsetting, like it said its only a personal preference. I'll say this, Clare is brave....enough, so to all her fans, know that this is not a hate post, its only an honest opinion, so I say keep loving these books and don't let my words tarnish what you love.

I gave these as a gift. The reason for the low rating is for B&N. The box was damaged when I received it. The back was broken out of it. Which should've been nearly impossible because of the fact that the plastic wrap wasn't damaged and the box it was sent in looked fine. So the boxed set quickly turned into handing someone 5 loose books.  They shipped this out on UPS SurePost. Which lead it to arriving late...they should have used UPS Ground seeing as I paid extra for expedited shipping, but i digress. The quality of the merchandise once I received it mixed with the poor customer service I received when trying to find where the package was. Oh I forgot to mention....the tracking number didn't register anything until it had been delivered to the post office. I ended up looking like an imbecile handing a bunch of books over as a gift I really wish that for all the money spent I would have gotten the quality that one expects from Barnes & Noble. I will NEVER buy anything off their website again. I will either go to their store or shop somewhere else entirely.

Good characters. Good storyline. A few twists but predictable.

I have never actualy felt attached to reading until I read this book. It was the first book ever to make me cry, scream, and laugh. When I first got this book i thought it would take me forever to read but this book is so good it took me one saturday. I am now on the fourth book and I still am in love with it. These books sort of give me a connection to the characters. It makes you feel like you are part of the story. Its so good and i suggest everyone read it! Also i would like to thank Clarissa Clare for making such a wonderful series. It has been so amazing to go on this journey and i wish it would never end. So thanks again for being just so amazing and bringing the mortal instruments books into this world.

Clare isn't the most sophisticated writer I've read, but I do find myself connected with the characters, however my complaint would be some of the fakeouts. I think I felt more at stake in her Infernal Devices trilogy, I hope this series has a satisfactory ending. So far it's a decent read to pass time and the way Clare blends the world in her books with ours intrigues me.

The Imortal Bones series was even more intense than the movie. You'll discover romance, intrigue, mystery, & plenty of fun in these enjoyable well written books.
