The laws of physics predict that lightning rarely strikes the same spot twice. But Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson isn't big on abiding by the law. Following in the multi-platinum footsteps of his 2003 debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin', the G-Unit general prepares to dominate the charts once again with The Massacre. Backed by the production wizardry of Dr. Dre and Eminem, among others, 50 delivers another jolting collection of gritty street anthems ("Ski Mask Way," "In My Hood") and surefire radio hits ("Candy Shop," "Pimpin' Part 2"). While the disc adeptly navigates the requisite themes of urban strife and groupie love, the Queens native delves deeper with conceptual tracks like "Baltimore LoveThing," where he likens heroin addiction to falling in love. Then, on "Talkin' 'Bout Me," 50 takes a few cues from Eminem's "Stan" and rhymes about himself from his haters' perspective. The rugged rapper's introspective interlude, is short-lived, however, as his trash-talking persona takes over on "Piggy Bank," which takes unnecessary shots at rival rappers Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Shyne, and Nas. With his sophomore disc, 50 Cent makes it clear that he wants not only to reclaim his chart-topping status but also to massacre the competition in the process. Anslem Samuel

this album is o.k. the songs have a good beat.
HOT! FIRST-LISTEN CAREFULLY,THE ALBUM HAS VARIETY:HOOD BEATS,CLUB SONGS a la RADIO,'90'S HIPHOP VIBE,AND OF COURSE CURTIS JACKSON CHARM. LYRICALLY, HE'S KNOW *PHAROAHE MONCH* BUT HE WRITES/RHYMES CONSISTENTLY THROUGHOUT EACH SONG (listen carefully-not judgementally is dat aword--anyway)) AND HAS CATCHY CHORUSES...ALSO, HE IS SOCIALLY-CONSCIOUS to a degree, CONFIDENT,DESCRIPTIVE,AND COMICAL. TO HATE ON THE MASSACRE IS WHAT I CALL "SELF-PREFERENCE" LISTENING(make me feel better listening)..INSTEAD, HE SLUGGED US W/A HEROIN ADDICTION SONG AND BANGED YOUR FAVORITE HOLLYWOOD CELEB THEN KICKED THEM OUT OF HIS CAR @THE SAME TIME GLORIFYIN' THE OLD WILD-WILD WEST(TRUE AMERICAN ---BUT 21ST CENTURY VERSION ! WRONG OR RIGHT HIPHOP OR GANSTA? ITS NOT FOR YOU OR ME TO JUDGE HIS PERSONA--- YO ---JUST LISTEN OR CHANGE THE CD -ASK MATTHEW:25-THE ALBUM IS "MOVIE-LIFE"-MUSIC!!!ps.the concept is dope
The best anticipated album of the year. This cd is pimpin. Give this a 10 stars if i can but this is only suppose to go up to 5. This is Fresh. 50 gonna gain more publicity. This cd promise to bring da house down, make your car more pimp, pump up the party.
This CD was complete trash!! His first one was a whole lot better. His rap style is so elementary & he continues to rap about absolutely nothing important! I hope his next one makes up for this garbage!
this is a great album and is worth paying for.songs like just a lil bit, get in my car, candy shop gunz come out.
One thing i have to say is that this cd is not as good as the first one. But there are many good songs on this one. Piggy Bank is my favorite so far. He has a better flow but the beats are not as good as the first ones
Fifty did it again! The sophomore album was the most anticipated album and does not dissapoint. This is much more gangsta & hardcore than "Get Rich or Die Tryin' but there is some tracks for the ladies too. Make sure to buy the album and support the best in the biz!
I don't understand why anyone considers this guy a rapper. His lyrical content is minimal, I'm sure he will not battle anyone of his foes. Anyone of them would eat this guy alive plain and simple. Pure garbage aint nothin gansta about this. Bubblegum Rap! Yeah, you been shot but it dont make you PAC!
this cd is the syzz, i recomend it to anyone who is a true gangsta!!! this cd is a club banger, so go comp it best songs:just a lil bit, candy shop, disco inferno, piggy bank, all of em are good gggggggg~unit!!!!!!
This a great second album from 50. A lot of great song, and already some new favorites. Take a listen to Outta Control, what an awesome beat. It's something to really get you moving. You gotta appreciate 50's view on heroin addiction in A Baltimore Love Thing. Gives new perspective on an old story. Also a great track is Hate It or Love It.
Sorry but to me this album was garbage, that's why I sold it to a friend. The beats are too pop, specialy "candy Shop" and "Disco Inferno" 50 comes back talking about the same thing he talked about in "Get rich or die tryin" Except he does it with pop, soft, beats. To me, and this is only my opinion "Get rich or die trying was waaaay better than this album, the first album is a classic. But this massacre garbage is millions of years from being considered a classic. Sorry, I'm not a 50 hater, i like his music but on this album he dissapointed. And please I hope i don't get shot by any of the people who gave it 5 stars and said it was a good cd. You know since some people can't separate reality from entertainment.
First off, I want to say "thank you Denise". This album is great. I gotta admit that I was a little nervous when Candy Shop and Disco Inferno came out. But when I heard the CD, I was surprised. All together, this CD is hot. How can you hate songs like Piggy Bank and I'm Supposed to Die Tonight
i love this album its off the hook its 50 cent at his best 50 cent is one of the best rapper alive since biggie smalls and tupac 50 cent rocks my socks off this cd is awesome i suggest every juggalo/juggalette to get this album also i suggest all you shadyheads to buy every 50 cent album 50 cent is the best of the best
I can't believe this is the album to follow up Get Rich or Die Tryin'. I keep listening to it over and over again trying to find a song I like, but it's total junk. Piggybank is the weakest beef track 50's had so far, and the only thing to even give a slight hope to the album is Eminem's verse in Gatman and Robbin. Candy Shop is a poor re-write to Magic Stick and the rest of the album sounds like someone wrote it on the way to the studio the day before it was released.
This is not only the best album of 2005 so far, it's the most mis-understood. This albums isnt commercial at all except for the singles. This album is not about lyrical skill, dissing or poping tracks. This album is a portrait of melacholy; a musical score for the human spirit. Those who dont know true gangster life, would understandleby be lost.
For real this guy can write hits. His songs be on point. Like the great Jigga say's "do you listen to music or do you jus skim through it". 50 is good. All these song are just as good as his first joint.
DONT YOU KNOW IS THE TALK OF NEW YORK SO THERE FOR IS A NEW GENERATION TO HIP HOP. 50CENT INTRODUCING A NEW WAY TO GET RICH AND FAMOUS. IF YOU AINT DOWN WITH GNIT IS BECAUSE YOU PROBABLY STUCK ON OLD FAT RAPPERS LIKE FAT JOE. 50CENT BEEN AROUND AND STILL AROUND WITH ALL THE SUCESS HE KEEPS COMING UP WITH YOU BETH HE WILL BE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME SO GET WITH IT. GGGGGGG UNIT.
When Get Rich or Die Tryin' came out, 50 was on top, now with this album everyone has gotta question "what went wrong?" There are still dope tracks on The Massacre, but overall the album is trash when compared to his last album. 50 does have great tracks tho with In my Hood and Get in My Car and others, but overall this album is a trash. Piggy Bank has gotta be the most retarded song ever. I say burn or borrow this cd from a friend, but don't buy it.
this cd was ok, some songs r good and others like piggy bank and get in my car stink. most of the cd he is talkin about guns or women, so its an ok cd
Look people who say this is wack, they're the ones who are.! This is indeed the best album of the year just as long as you don't get the edited version. tracks 1-4, gatman, get in my car, gunz come out, my toy soilder, position of power, and I don't need 'em are pieces of... when edited. Best songs here are: God gave me style, Get in my car, So Amazing and I'm Supposed to Die Tonight and including all those singles he realesed. But the best song on the album is Ryder Music!!!!
The cd is alright, its got some good lyrics, but mostly all old and played out.
50 pulled a 50:50. Only a about half the songs are good, and the other half suck. But comming from a person who isn't a constant rap listener (me), maybe my taste won't match yours. I'd suggest that you only buy it if you absolutly LOVE 50 cent.
Wack!!! I dont like this CD because he has big lips and his songs are pathetic. 50 cent's cd should be worth 50 cents with a 50% discount. My favorite song from his CD is the last one because i get to listen to something else after that song. bye guys i hpe u dont buy this krap.
