The Lost Macaw is the fourth novella in the Lost and Found Pets series. Alexandra Prescott is a licensed private investigator specializing in finding missing animals. Reuniting pet and owner is more than just a job.
A former client hires Alex to find her lost parrot. The bright colored bird has flown away before, but this time there is evidence that Molly was kidnapped. The demand is simple—the bird for the pictures.
When her client suffers a stroke, Alex is left with a ransom note, a missing bird, and some very incriminating photos. She is in a race against time to solve the mystery of the lost Macaw.

Who Would Kidnap a Macaw? The Lost Macaw is the fourth novella in B. L. Blair’s Lost and Found Pets series. I love Ms. Blair’s writing style and she has once again succeeded in writing a wonderfully crafted whodunit that held my interest throughout the entire story. This well plotted mystery has a cast of well-developed and affable characters. The story has lots of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good, clean mystery. Alexandra ‘Alex’ Prescott used to be a private investigator, but she grew tired of working divorce and insurance fraud cases, so she decided to combine her PI skills and love of animals and opened Lost and Found Pets. Alex’s services include the use of her German Shepard, Hero, who is a trained search and rescue dog. An elderly client, Trudy Kearns, shows up unexpectedly at Lost and Found Pets and is distraught that her beloved Macaw, Molly, is missing and she wants Alex and Hero to help find him like they did once before. Alex knows that finding Molly will be difficult and if she flew away, Hero won’t be able to follow her scent. When Trudy, Alex, and Hero arrive at Trudy’s home, they find an envelope taped to the front door. Alex and Hero are just starting to search the house and Trudy opens the envelope when she suffers a stroke. After Trudy is taken to the hospital, they continue the search outside, and Alex soon realizes Molly has been kidnapped and she’s even more determined to find Molly and bring her home. Lukas ‘Luke’ Gibson, Alex’s boyfriend, is very supportive and helps with this case. Their relationship has its ups and downs, mainly because he can’t, or won’t, share some things with her. Nathaniel Bennett, the father she never knew, is trying to build a relationship with Alex. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
