Overview

THE RUMOR IS UP AND THE BANNS ARE READ: THE DISSOLUTE DUKE HAS FINALLY WED!

With a name synonymous with sin and debauchery so shocking it is spoken of only in whispers, Taylen Ellesmere, Duke of Alderworth, is more surprised than anyone when he finds himself forced to marry! Before the ink is dry on the register he turns his back on this sham of a marriage and leaves.

Three years later, having barely survived the scandal, Lady Lucinda has placed one delicately shod foot back in the hallowed halls of the ton when her husband returns. He has an offer she can't refuse. And in exchange? Their wedding night!

"Bold and tantalizing...James's novel is a page-turner." -RT Book Reviews on Masquerading Mistress

About the Author

Sophia James
read Georgette Heyer novels as a teenager lying in the sun on her grandmother's porch overlooking a wild west coast beach. Her writing life, however, started in Bilbao, Spain.
After having three wisdom teeth extracted, she was given a pile of Mills and
Boons-and filled with strong painkillers, she imagined that she could pen one too.
Many drafts later she thinks she has the perfect job writing for Harlequin Historical as well as taking art tours to Europe with her husband, who is a painter. A large extended family and a house full of renovations that are never done complete the equation.

Carolyn Morris has narrated numerous romance novels, including the Spindle Cove series by Tessa Dare.

A true love Story! That is how it makes you feel, not like fiction. The pace was perfect. Also, the interesting way Sophia James allows them to slowly get to know each other. Overcoming their fears and so many misconceptions about the circumstances that brought them together. How they dealt with everything. And finally LOVE. So comfortable to follow to the most beautifully written delayed wedding night. Again exquisite. I had gotten tired of too explicit and unnecessary love scenes, but this was so sweet, tender and perfectly done. Looking forward to reading more of Sophia James romances.

An ok ronance too much time spent on how Lucy was ruined and the fallout, not enough time spent on the actual romance

The last book in the series was just good for me. In previous books Lady Lucinda was quite a handful. I guess she has grown up now and lost some of her fire. This is a must read if only to find out what happened to Lady Lucinda.

I was so ready to read the 4th and last book of this series! In review, the author's storyline had so much potential which may have been lessened due to book length constraints. The elements of a good regency romance are there, but I would have missed out if I hadn't already been given the background information in the previous books of the series. I agree with the reviewer who had to stop and reread to get the meaning. I kept losing the story's momentum trying to get through the wordy prose.

No matter how much I dislike a book, I always try to find something likeable in it. Whether it be a character that came to life or some witty dialogue. Unfortunately, I was not able to find ANYTHING likeable in this book. It was very BORING. Flat boring characters! Weak plot/climax. The writing did not flow, so on a few occasions I had to re-read a paragraph to make sense of it. It's my opinion that the author lack imagination when writing this book. :(

Love it, love it, love it. A fitting ending to a very enjoyable series. You don't need to read the other three books to enjoy this story, but I like to see the continuation of the family relationship.
