Patterson' s reputation won't survive if he continues to put his name on books like this one. The plot was so ridiculous, a former cop, truck chef and a guy who runs around chasing a married woman, eating at different restaurants almost every night, plus taking longs walks with his new love and he still manages to stop a terrorist plot that an entire team of FBI agents and the NOPD can't solve. I usually finish a Patterson book in a few hours, but it took me three weeks to get through this one.

Gets into the action quickly with interesting characters. Really enjoyed how the author described New Orleans and its food with such love. Would like to see the Killer Chef in more adventures. Plausible or not, it was fun to read.

I LOVE James Patterson! I did not think that he knew how to write a bad book, but he does. The Chef was such a disappointment from the plot to the characters. Really bad for those of use who commit to finishing a book no matter how bad. This was a total waste of time. Having vented, I am still a loyal fan and look forward to his next good book.

I usually look forward to a James Patterson book. This one I completed reading only because I paid $14.99 for the Nook Book. Certainly didn't get my money's worth. An unrealistic plot, boring and kind of creepy love story. I'm deleting it now that it's done and hope I don't get fooled again.

Found this just ok but not at all attention grabbing and not as suspenceful as other JP books

Was really looking forward to reading this book, but I’m utterly disappointed. Everything fell flat and the plot was underwhelming.

I wish these wonderful authors would read the books written by their co-writers, this is a terrible book “co-authored “ by a first class writer. It’s boring., and childish. I checked to be sure it wasn’t written for children. If there is. a plot it was too predictable to be intriguing. Shame on you, James Patterson, you have tricked me into looking forward to what should have been an exciting reading experience !

Read a book with similar story line which I thought was better.

A different kind of Patterson novel, I found it easy to read and extremely patriotic. A loyal to the bone detective.

The story plot could've been a good story, but the writing of dialogue and story line was high school drama and unrealistic. This was my first James Patterson book and I'm very disappointed. I suspect the co-author wrote it. I couldn't even finish the book. Waste of time and money. Sorry, but my truth.

Very disappointed. I keep going trying to get involved and interested but just too amateurish. Not typical James Patterson even tho he has stung me on a few -- but I will still read his books and know that no one is perfect.
