Overview

The explosive and sensational new thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of THE FORCE and THE CARTEL.

"Promises to be one of the most attention-grabbing books of the year" Spectator

"Can't wait to read this. Winslow's the best." Stephen King

For over forty years, Art Keller has been on the front lines of America's longest conflict: The War On Drugs. His obsession to defeat the world's most powerful, wealthy, and lethal kingpin-the godfather of the Sinaloa Cartel, Adán Barrera-has left him bloody and scarred, cost him people he loves, even taken a piece of his soul.

Now Keller is elevated to the highest ranks of the DEA, only to find that in destroying one monster he has created thirty more that are wreaking even more chaos and suffering in his beloved Mexico. But not just there.

Barrera's final legacy is the heroin epidemic scourging America. Throwing himself into the gap to stem the deadly flow, Keller finds himself surrounded by enemies-men that want to kill him, politicians that want to destroy him, and worse, the unimaginable-an incoming administration that's in bed with the very drug traffickers that Keller is trying to bring down.

Art Keller is at war with not only the cartels, but with his own government. And the long fight has taught him more than he ever imagined. Now, he learns the final lesson-there are no borders.

"One of the best thriller writers on the planet" Esquire

"He's a master" Michael Connelly

"Nobody understands the disaster of corruption like Don Winslow" Val McDermid

I read both the Cartel and Power of the Dog and felt that both were excellent. Unfortunately this book falls far short. Too many meaningless characters laced with political views that did not lend very much to the story.

I have read every novel this author has published and was very excited to read The Border. I read to escape real life, particularly politics. What a complete waste of my time and money. This book is nothing more than pure propaganda and not very well structured. There are too many meaningless characters and very little plot or actual story. Do not anticipate being lifted into another world or even invested in any of the characters.

Loved these books until this one. Finished only because I’d already paid for it. Author simply waited to impugn the current administration by attempting to link drug cartel falsehoods to the recent attempts by the media and Democratic Party to paint the president as colluding with the Russians. I want to remind the author the worst part of the Mexican Drug War was under the Obama administration.

I felt that he included and examined all sides of this very sad issue. Well written and moved along nicely.

I did not read the first two books of the Border Trilogy. While I find the Border an acceptable read I cannot get over the authors self indulgence. Somehow everything devolves into an ant-american bias. The author is an expert in superflous personal diatribes that end up as condenscending generalizations for those who don't share his progressive politics. Its amazing how little Obama's administration had to do with the rise of opiate addiction and cartel expansion! Somehow magically it is all Trump's fault and of course his son-in-law is the super bad guy who is in cahoots with the cartels. It really ruins the read to have to wade through such sophmoric and preachy political views. Sorry Hillary did not win the election, just maybe your readers are too dumb to figure things out for themselves.
