Calvin is still at his imaginative adventures. In this collection you have some of Bill Watterson's best comics. In this volume you'll see the very first time Calvin actually goes camping with his parents with the worst weather anyone could dread. See the invention of the hand held trasmogrifier and the longest set of comics based on his Dad's polls. This collection also includes the exclusive story where Calvin turns himself into an elephant to memorize his vocabulary words. This collection also introduces Stupendous Man in his nameplate hood and cape. The Authoritative Calvin and Hobbes is composed of comics from "Yukon Ho!" and "Weirdoes From Another Planet!"

I can't recommend any Calvin & Hobbes book highly enough!! They're perfect for any coffee table, because they can be enjoyed by anyone of any age and literary taste. Calvin's sarcasm and Hobbes dry irony are a perfect match for Calvin's long-suffering parents, and the wonderful graphic art perfectly captures those "bon mots" that leave you giggling helplessly! Calvin & Hobbes is for everyone who has ever been a child, and anyone who has ever been a parent (or who intends to be at some point in their life - be warned!)

I love Calvin and Hobbes. It has been all I have read for the past 4 or 5 months, (I haven't read anything else) and I love it!!! If you have yet to read a Calvin & Hobbes Book, I advise this one because it is a collection of some of Watterson's greatest strips

This book is great. It has everything you want in a good comic, lots of humor, a little action, and good pictures. The pictures are really good and artistic and some of them are even colorful.

I have the real book series. Huge fan. I do not know how Bill Watterson pulls this amount of comedy off. | /\ /\ / \ ____ [] | | | | |_| | | [] |__ | | | | | |____| o

These collections of comics of a six year old boy and his "imaginary" tiger are both heart-warming and hilarious. Bill Watterson has nailed the mind of a young boy and this compilation will endure as a classic collection!

This version seems to ccut shor tthe opening srory arc of Calvin as an elephant. Why? What else has been left out? If it waa all there it would be a 10.

Fans of Calvin & Hobbes will enjoy this collection. People who used to be fans of Calvin & Hobbes when they were younger, and now just find Calvin to be an annoying little punk who thinks he's smart, but is really just a lazy (though imaginative) slacker with a really bad attitude will wonder why in the world they still own this book.

an all-time classic. Practical philosophy and humor at their best. A must read.

The only collection of the classic comic strip that isn't a home run. I think he was just sitting on what he had already created a little too much. It's still fun, but it's definitely not the best of the strip.
