CHAPTER 1

They were excited to go, so away they went To the head of the pack was Rowdy they sent He knew the way, he had been there before They reached the Cave ready to explore

Sam and Rowdy ventured there many a days But avoided entering in so many ways Going in together they never dared They were with others so they weren't scared Diesel wanted to lead 'cause he thought he was tough He took a few steps and that was enough

He started ahead with a thunderous bark But was quickly silenced once it was dark They began to question the choice they had made Now it was dark and they were all afraid

They were determined this time so they pressed on They couldn't believe how far they'd gone They were feeling safe and began to relax When a noise up ahead stopped them dead in their tracks

They couldn't move and were frozen with fear What was this beast that was sure to appear? Into the darkness they continued to stare And what stepped forth but a big brown bear

As fast as they could, they all turned to run Their relaxing adventure was no longer fun The bear called out from not far behind But his voice wasn't loud, it was friendly and kind They turned the corner and around the bend But suddenly realized it was a dead end

Face to face they stood with the bear And a tour of the Cave he offered to share They were unsure whether to go or to stay The bear offered kindly and led the way

Sam and Rowdy looked at each other in disbelief This was a kind bear, oh what a relief He wanted new friends because he was so lonely No bears around here, he was the only The bear was excited to show them around He was so happy with the new friends he'd found

They all hung out for the rest of the day Then the time came to be on their way The bear invited them back and wished 'em the best He recommended they visit the Woods to the West
