After 15 years, a countless numbers of diets and weight loss programs and thousands of dollars wasted, I am so glad that I found this book specifically for the 20/20 foods, I will explain why in a minute. That’s is because the 20/20 Diet is the one of only two books that actually tackles the topic head on about why other diets fail. Dr. Phil calls these blunders the Seven Ugly Truths about dieting. The other book was better at this because it called them what they are, outright lies. Once we understand WHY diets don't usually work, we can use the latest information to help chart our own program to lose weight.  The 20/20 Plan then becomes a combination of sensible exercise with some very special foods that Dr. Phil calls the 20/20 foods because they tend to increase your metabolism  and help you feel fuller when you eat them so that you will feel satisfied. That is because they help fuel you longer and if you don’t feel hungry, you won’t continue to rely of overeating to help you to get through your day. This is one of the main reasons why I bought this book, again, to learn about the 20/20 foods and what it can do to help maintain my current weight loss. I lost 16 pounds already and I like how I feel having lost that weight. Overall, this book is highly recommended and deserves a permanent spot in your library for the 20/20 foods alone. The only other book that I can honestly recommend that has ever helped me in 15 years to eat better and lose weight is called The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution, which I found a few months ago here on Barnes and Nobles thanks to someone else’s recommendation in another review. Why not return the favor? I strongly suggest that you buy The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution as well.  Even if you have to request The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution at your local library, The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution is a must read. Again, I have never felt hungry using what it has taught me, which even Dr. Phil stated is one of the main reasons why diets fail, but as the book asked directly, whoever said that you should have to starve yourself just to lose a few unwanted pounds With The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution, I honestly didn’t have to! The best part is that it has also helped my entire family start eating better, especially my three teenage daughters. I hope this helps you and your family to do the same. Best wishes!

I have read and then thrown away so many diet and "self help" books that I thought " well this one is written by someone whom I like to watch on TV and he seems to be knowledgable about weight loss. Maybe, just maybe, this one is the one that will help me lose, for good, the weight I have so much trouble with. " I have not really lost the weight yet but Dr. Phil's book "The 20/20 Diet Book" is so easy to read. I did not make a mistake this time. I have bought a well written book from a well known personality of " talk tough and straight about everything" and I have a very good feeling about the outcome of my personal weight loss. Try it I think you' like it. By the way read the introduction all the way through. It certainly helped me understand what he was talking about in the body of the book.

Such a disappointment. When you read the list of his "allowed foods" notice how many are without firm research/studied. I don't want to read about foods which appear to, seem to, The data is most limited in fact, variety, and nutrients. He constantly refers to, "as in my prior books..." Borrow from a library if you must, however, there are a vast number of books which offer solid foundation for our health and weight loss.

 OMG, seven days and eight pounds! I just want to say thank you to whoever recommended The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution in a review on here. I bought the paperback copy out of curiosity and I just did the first seven day challenge and I have already lost eight pounds. I stepped on the scale a few minutes ago and still couldn’t believe it. I am drinking more water. I no longer skip breakfast. I avoid a lot of salts, sugars and preservatives by using what the book taught me to shop better. I even stopped drinking diet sodas. I am 42 years old and a mother of three and in the last twenty years, I have never felt this good. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I said to myself, here is somebody, talking about Chef Jai that finally gets it and understands the struggle to lose weight and actually offers real help. You really should buy this book, The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution and see what it can do for you.

Read it, eat well, lose weight! It really is that easy. You have four meals a day. Get past phase 1 and it will be easier. I am now Dr.Phill's biggest fan. I have tried it all and still can't believe how much i have lost. This is truly a blessing to my life and my health.

I felt like it was just anither fad diet, weird foods and combinayions and smoothie shakes with whey podwer doesnt seem to me susstainable long term and does not promote healrhy eating. The only redeeming part ofthe bookwas whenhe said you need to get a grip onyour emotional eating and learn to recofnize it from physical hunger very dusappointed

Not happy with this book, it is truly just another diet book, for 30 days you eat specific foods , what happens after the 30 days? In this book he says you will no longer want the foods you used to eat. So not true ,tried it did not work for me , I was still hungry after one of his dinner suggestions.I am 5ft 3in and I now weigh 149, my goal weight is 135, I guess I will go back to weight watchers, it is the only plan where you can eat anything you want in moderation, you just have to count your points.I wasted my $9.49 on this book. Kathy.
