The 1993 World Trade Center Bombing

The 1993 World Trade Center Bombing

by Charles J. Shields

In 1993, the 110-story twin towers of the World Trade Center, located in the heart of New York City's financial district, became the target of a small team of Muslim extremists, who were intent on killing everyone in the buildings and surrounding area. With a massive bomb set in the Center's parking garage, the terrorists killed 6 people and injured more than 1,000 others. After the explosion, the FBI and other investigators swiftly gathered the evidence needed to track down and convict the perpetrators.
