The 10-Minute Retriever reflects the authors' belief that daily ten-minute training sessions best suit a retriever's attention span and lead to rapid learning. This book is easy to use for the absolute beginner and yet deeply informative for the serious student of retriever training. The text has the information most needed by the owner of a pet retriever: how to make it reliably obedient and well-mannered.

This book details a program for training retreivers in minutes a day, using a method which is the standard in retreiver training today. It is well-written and easy to follow. The techniques described are not barbaric. It does not teach to beat the dog with a stick or whip as the reviewer from December 2001 hints. I seriously question whether that reviewer actually read the book.
