K-Gr 3-The first title features Maria Rodriguez, who helps the children in her Bronx school with computer searching, chooses books for the collection, and keeps records of the materials. The second title follows Lisa Shlansky throughout the day as she reads to her class, teaches them to measure, and talks with parents. What makes these "occupation" books unique is that they show the educators outside of their roles as well, with photographs of the librarian bowling with her family and the teacher grocery shopping. Each title has two pages of "Things to Do" to learn more about the profession. Abundant, sharp color photographs bring the information to life. Excellent for children wanting to learn more about the people who work in their school.-Anne Knickerbocker, formerly at Cedar Brook Elementary School, Houston, TX Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
