Thanksgiving is a truly American holiday and Gail Gibbons with her chatty text and beautiful illustrations has created a wonderful book for children. Whether they read it themselves or cuddle up with a grown up, the book is a great teaching tool about harvest festivals in general and our own American version of the holiday.

As with all Gail Gibbons books the illustrations are excellent. This book is very informative, and it is written in language that is understood by children. It offers different perspectives on Thanksgiving, and an explanation of the various traditions. I highly recommend it. You will never go wrong with a book written by Gail Gibbons!
