For many years I have been a fan of Debbie Macomber. However, this book was so disappointing because I felt the author/publisher were cheating faithful readers who, like me, may not look beyond the words "new release" and just skim over the titles of stories withing the covers, BUT, the bottom line it was my fault for purchasing it and not reading the description carefully. Texas Skies has more than one story and each one is a short version of its original, individual book. It is my fault I was disappointed because I did not check my many pages listing the titles of books I have read before purchasing this book . Texas Skies turned out to be a Reader's Digest version of books already published and which I had already read. It is also my fault I depend on B&N's notices that alert me I selected a book already purchased. This time it could not advise me because Texas Skies is a new title rather than the titles of the original books contained within the covers. So, the warning I give you, the potential reader, would be for each book offered which has more than one story within it, check to see if you have already read those books in another version. I wanted to give Texas Skies a lower rating but that would not be fair to the other potential readers - all stories will hold your interest and are well written -- just repeats of the books the author had published already. .
