This is a reflection on the education of teachers, written by teacher educators who discuss features of their work and the challenges facing teacher education in the 1990s. The book invites the reader to attempt similar analyses of personal practice and development in their own teaching.; The book deals with the personal development of both new and experienced teacher educators, illustrating how strongly teacher educators are influenced by their visions and by the challenge to prove themselves in the university setting. In addition, the book examines the ways in which teacher educators have acted to promote their own professional development and study their own practices, including writing as a tool for reflection, a life-history approach to self-study, as well as a study of educative relationships with others, and the analysis of a personal return to the classroom. Finally, it takes a broader look at the professional development of teacher educators and offers a challenge to all teacher educators to consider the tension between rigour and relevance.

(Hey, guys! This is my first chapter for my new story The Midsummer Satation. It is based upon the cover art for the album of the same name by the wonderful Owl City aka Adam Young aka the guy who wrote that song Fireflies from like 2009 aka the guy Taylor Swift wrote her song Enchanted about. ANYWAYS, hope you enjoy the story!-->) It was dark. REALLY dark. But i had to leave. Had to get out of this terrible place before somebody found me. I just wanted to be free, but i wasn' t sure if there was anywhere i could go and be free. Then i stopped running. Where WAS i? I looked around and saw that i was on a beach. That didn't make sense. Last i checked, was nowhere near the ocean. How long was i running? How far away am i? I sat down, exhausted and out of breath. Then out of nowhere i saw a flicker of light. It was small, and if it was any lighter outside, i wouldn't have seen it. But there it was. I got up and started walking toward where i had seen it. Then all of a sudden a BOAT came out of nowhere. One second there was nothing there, and the next there was a small boat, big enough for about one person. I decided to get in the boat to hide. Just in case i hadn't gone as far as i thought and someone saw me. Just then, the boat started moving on it's own. What is going on? I though. Then i realized just how exhausted i was, and i layed down and let the waves rock me to sleep... (Thanks for reading! The rest of the story will be at kol reses 1 through however many chapters i decide to write. Chapter 2 will be posted today at kol res 1.)
