US Navy SEAL Thorn "Tank" Hunt has been there done that, but when he loses his best friend and military working dog Echo, he's heartbroken, but he has to pick up the pieces and get another partner. He met tough as nails and way too confident for her britches, Army Reserve veterinarian, Dr. Alyssa St. James through his baby brother and her fundraising efforts on behalf of MWDs. The undeniably beautiful, but contrary woman takes on the mission to teach Tank some new tricks and in the process, discover that maybe every once and a while he could roll over and let someone else take the lead.

Doc, as Alyssa is affectionately known at her practice, has had to deal with plenty of macho assholes in her years as a reservist, but although Tank looks like one of them guys, he's anything but. A big man with a big heart tears down her walls and barriers, except, getting involved with a military man like her jerky ex-husband seems counter-intuitive. The distance and the separation devastated their marriage. Determined to stay in control, she's compelled to help him when he is introduced to Blade, a beautiful Belgian Malinois to replace the one lost in battle. Just as much a warrior as the man she is finding irresistible. But as their relationship progresses and Tank works himself deeper into her heart, can they take the hardships of serving their country in stride and make it work?

Tank is the fourth in the series, but don't let this discourage you from picking this great read up! First - I'll confess I'm a cat person. Not that I don't like dogs, but I prefer cats. But Echo's story in this book had me openly weeping at times, and if you're an animal lover, you'll be reacting the same way. Tank's story is filled with action, adventure and romance as he comes to terms with his desire for a woman he thinks he can't have - mixed in with a desperate rescue mission and the agony of not only being injured, but possibly losing his best friend. If you've never read one of the SEAL Team Alpha books, get on board now because it's only going to get wilder with every pass!

Tank by Zoe Dawson SEAL Team Alpha Series Book Four Thorn “Tank” Hunt has his brothers and his brotherhood. He doesn't need more than a willing woman now and then. No relationships for him. Only...the veterinarian he's been working for the military working dogs charity she has, seems to have slipped under his skin. Dr. Alyssa St. James loves being a veterinarian, especially helping with the military working dogs. When she first meets her employee's older brother...she's not impressed. He's a hunk for sure, but not her type. And yet, she can't seem to get him out of her mind. Have tissues handy for this one. SEAL Team Alpha gets into some danger...like always, but it hits closer to home on this one. There's the romance, but also other background situations that are connected to the main characters. Really good story line and more emotional than previous ones. **Sexual content and language

Once again, Ms Dawson demonstrate her talent as a write with this fourth book of her SEAL Team Alpha series. This one gives us Tank Hunt and Alyssa St James. Tank is a Navy SEAL whose personal losses have affected him emotionally and psycholoically. He is a take charge kind of guy, as well as a dedicated warrior. Alyssa is a veterinarian, Army Reserve, and a woman with walls around her heart after being hurt by an ex-husband. Though neither wants involvements of any kind , Alyssa feels she needs to help Tank, not only find a new dog/partner, but also to find himself. A heartbreaking and heartwarming story that is sure to stay in your heart. Kudos to the author in reminding us that not only the men and women fighting for our country need to be honored, and thanked for their dedication, and service but also, their families. Those left behind have to deal with many hardships. Another winning story by Ms Dawson. I was gifted a copy of this book, The opinions expressed are solely my own.
