This bedtime story uses soothing repetition and beautiful watercolors to set the mood for bedtime. Abuelita, or grandmother, is tucking her three grandchildren into bed as she reminds them of all the little creatures in the world that are sleeping, too.

A simple but sweet bilingual (English/Spanish) picture book about a grandmother tucking her grandchildren into bed at night, this picture book is great for bilingual families, or for use in ESL or Spanish language classes. The watercolor illustrations are full of colorful, happy people and animals, and this book is suitable for children ages 3-6. Can be used with older children as a language tool.

The book is about a grandmother quieting her grandchildren before bed. Each line of English text is followed directly by a Spanish translation. As a result, children will probably pick up on a few Spanish words. Also, the book uses repetition so it becomes quite predictable. It is better suited to read as a bedtime story than at school.

My son LOVES this book. Even though dulces suenos doesn't translate to sweet dreams this book is one of my son's favorite bedtime stories.
