Kaoru Ono is a leading writer and illustrator of children's books in Japan. Her work includes Spring Breezes Huff and Puff, The Broken Egg, The Mouse's Bride, Playing with Shadows, The Story of the Bridge, and many, many others. She is a member of the Tokyo-based artists' group Shinseisaku Kyoukai and is active in designing public monuments. A graduate of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, she is an honorary professor of the Tokyo University of Art and Design.
