Two Mothers, enemies by nature, leave their shelters during a raging storm.

Both are driven by a single purpose- to save their young.

Genna, a homeless mother cat, carrying her Kitt to a safer shelter faces a heart breaking loss as the storm sweeps her beloved baby away ? and out of sight.

Wheat, a small field mouse far across town races to save her mouselet family that's been swept away from their briar patch home by the driving rain.

An unsuspected fierce storm brings two animal families together, and out of a crisis situation comes friendship, care, and acceptance for one another.

This story quickly pulls the readers (& listeners) into an imaginative world where a lot of the challenges everyone faces- family crises, loyalty, relations with others including natural enemies - are shown as adventures which Stormboy handles with grace and style. It doesn't take much to get a pretty lively discussion going from this book, especially with people who aren't afraid of their imaginations. But it's a lot of fun even without the discussions.

Everybody wants to guess what Stormboy will do next.

I liked the title of this story, 'Stormboy the Mouse (sort of)' because it makes you wonder what could this story be about. What adventures could a cat and mouse get into? My thoughts were sheer misery for one or the other? The title 'Stormboy' is such a cute name and you are not sure if it means the cat or the mouse. This was a fun story to read and really may teach young ones about survivorability in a tough situation.

A found it to be wonderful story about the interaction of animals in true life situations with cleaver outcomes and lessons. The illustrations took me back to my childhood and my relationships with my cats and dogs. I certainly hope that there will be a continuation of Stormboy's adventures for my grandchildren and I to enjoy.

A refreshing little book for cat fanciers & animal lovers alike. Simply stated with an ending that hints of the holiday season, and would make a great Christmas gift or stocking stuffer. I also think that readers of all ages would like to know what the future holds for Stormboy & his extended family.
