The Star Wars universe is at your fingertips! The Star Wars: The Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook is a role playing game that explores the places across the galaxy where morality is gray and nothing is certain. It contains everything that players and GMs need to conduct their adventures as smugglers in the Outer Rim, to collect bounties on the scum in the shadows of Coruscant, or to establish new colonies beneath the Empire's notice.

This is the book for those who want to play their Star Wars RPG in a galaxy filled with scum, villainy and Imperial agents. It is the better book setting for those who want to play on the dark under belly of the Star Wars universe. I got the Rebellion book first and it is a great resource but if you fancy your hero a little more "ethically fuzzy" then go with this core book first. It is also helpful for those who want to inject a healthy dose of Firefly into their Star Wars as you get to play smugglers, explorers and colonists of every stripe and who doesn't dream of flying of into the unknown and facing horror, mystery and maybe a secret Sith cave or two. So stop being a nerf herder and roll up your own hero (and of course you can roll a nerf herder if you really want to) and don't forget to check out the sourcebooks for colonists, hired guns and explorers. They are worth a look too.
I have always been a Star Wars fan, and this let's me take it a step further. I love this rule-set and have enjoyed many hours of enjoyable game-play with my like minded friend.
Set in the time frame of after Star Wars:A New Hope and Before Empire Strikes Back, this new version of the Star wars RPG steps back from the Empire Vs. Rebellion setting so common in previous versions of the RPG and is set in the outer fringes of the Empire. Players are more likely to run into crime lords, bounty hunters, and Hutts then they are liable to get involved in the actual rebellion against the Empire. It's a darker more gritty setting where things are less black and white and much more grey. My only complaint is that the game uses a set of custom dice instead of the standard set of gaming dice and the dice mechanics take a bit to get use to. All in all,it's a good game and i look forward to many enjoyable game sessions in the future.
