I have found that every time Mr. Scotton publishes a book - it is essential to my library. Being 59 years old might make that statement odd, but his books are a joy for me to read to my grandchildren and school students. Always a hit at our house.

My 2 1/2yr old has been listening to this book on B&N online storytime and he has the whole thing memorized! He asks for it whenever he sees me on the computer. I will probably end up purchasing it for Nook Color.

My son really likes this book. He made a connrction because they are both taking swim lessons and getting over their fear of water.

A very cute book about a black cat named Splat! He's not too fond of water but they are going to have swimming lessons at school! It is charming and would be a good read-aloud book for kids. The art work is purr-fect: funny and expressive! In July 2011 it is read out loud (by Molly Ringwald) online, very fun. I don't know if the Nook version is also read by her. I saw it online.

Splat does not like getting into the water, especially for his baths. So when his mom tells him not only that his annoying friend Spike is coming over, but that he has swimming lessons, he gets a bit upset. But his friend Spike finally gets into the water so Splat makes himelf get in. Once he gets into the pool he finds that he loves swimming. A cute book for young children who maybe are taking swimming lessons as well. Good for quotation marks too and there are many (5?) Splat books in the series.

Splat is not having a good day. First, his mom wakes him up in the middle of a candy fish dream. Then she tells him that his arch-nemesis Spike is coming over after school. Oh, and swim lessons start today. But as almost any cat will tell you, water is horrible and scary and wet. The day keeps getting worse and worse. Splat learns a few lessons along the way and finds some surprises too.
