"Conway has created a charming small story, where the paraphernalia of modern life (multi-storey buildings and torches) are essential items in what is essentially a twenty-first century version of a generic folktale. Kolanovic's pastel illustrations add immeasurably to the whole, with wide snowy street scenes populated by quirky dogs, cats and children and an enormous, imprecise and endless sky. A classic in the making?"-Booktrust "A heartwarming fable accompanied by a gorgeous art style, "Shine Moon Shine" is a picturebook sure to please children. Enthusiastically recommended for community library collections aimed at children."- Midwest Book Review "A heartwarming story, beautifully illustrated for children in early and middle years."- Riverbend Books It's just a wonderful, wonderful book."- Bookbag "The reader will learn that even a bad situation can be turned around into a good one. The illustrations are just perfect. There is a slight haze covering each of them that give a softness that certainly fits the story line. I was impressed that the person making the difference was such a young child. I believe this makes a very important statement to little ones who are ready to absorb positive words and ideas. This book would be a perfect gift. It is great for both boys and girls and is sure to be a favourite of all children who read it."- Children's Literature " The dynamic illustrations strongly complement the text and allow the reader to empathise with the situation and rejoice when the resolve is reached. A heart-warming story with beautiful illustrations by Dubravka Kolanovic. When I finished reading the story to my son we took a look at the night sky from his bedroom window and saw Owen's frozen tears [stars] filled with moonlight illuminating the night sky so the moon wouldn¿t be lonely anymore. A magical end to bedtime reading.
