For the money, you absolutely cannot beat this edition of the NAB:RE. The font for the main body of the text is large enough that many people will be able to read it without any problems (although the notes are a bit tiny). The boards are covered in cloth, although the binding does not appear to be sewn. Still, the binding is fairly loose, which should prevent stress fractures associated with this type of binding and an overly stiff text block. There are many helps in this Bible which make it a valuable resource: background information, maps, illustrations, interpretive helps, extensive notes, decent cross references to similar passages or ideas, and introductions to both individual books and book sections that provide great help in understanding what you are reading. The notes offer a very reasoned approach to interpreting the Scriptures with a good dose of differing methodologies including historical-critical (for context) and metaphorical (to illustrate the truth) understandings.
