Pull My Chain

Pull My Chain

by Toby Keith

From his college days playing linebacker on top-rated Oklahoma University football teams to his professional career hanging out in the topmost reaches of the country charts, Toby Keith has become accustomed to the penthouse life. And while Pull My Chain is full of radio- and listener-friendly songs destined for chart success, with Toby Keith there's always meat on the bone, thoughts and feeling to go along with a solid beat and engaging personality. "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight," the album opener, is the sort of tuneful, straight-talking country rocker on which Keith puts his genial, open-hearted stamp. Similarly, the soft, evocative ballad "You Leave Me Weak" gives Keith an opportunity to get lowdown and bluesy in opening up to the woman of his dreams before belting out the soaring choruses. The ever-reliable Dave Loggins contributes one of the album's nonstop burners, "Pick 'em Up and Lay 'em Down," which finds Keith delivering a blistering vocal attack over searing guitars and booming drums in a fierce, rocking track that just won't quit. "My List" is Keith's self-affirming resolution to make the most of each day, while the tearjerking "You Didn't Have as Much to Lose" shows off a sensitive side under the macho posturing. A nice blend of fiery, rocking songs and tender, introspective moments, Pull My Chain figures to be to country music what Keith's alma mater was to college football in 2000: Totally dominant.

I haven't bought the record yet, but I have been waiting for it ever since US99 in Chicago played songs from it on the sly. My favorites are the list and I wanna talk about me.

I bought this CD yesterday, and it has been very nice to listen to. I suggest any Toby Keith fan to purchase it, or any country music fan for that matter.

Pull My Chain is a great CD. There are no weaknesses. Moving ballads mix with rocking, fun songs. The best by far is "You Leave Me Weak", guaranteed to get your mate in the mood! Toby hits big with this album.

You have the fun hip hop ''I wanna talk about me''the ever so truthful and self serving ''I'm just talkin' about tonite'', The Love Ballad ''You Leave Me Weak'' that melts your heart with every word sang by Tobys rich and sexy voice, and Then ''The List'' which is not only soulful but down right earthy and meaningful to anyone with a heart!!Then to top it off a good old Cowboy song,''Gimme 8 seconds'' the song that makes you want to run out and watch a rodeo!! Toby has finally come to his own, and the rest of the country world has found out what us true Toby fans have known for years...Toby is real country music and country music fans love Toby!! Hey everyone I have been a Toby Keith fan since Boomtown. I think that Toby is so very talented and his new CD tops it all. His songs just keep getting better. I thought I was impressed with his last CD, ''I Wanna Talk About Me, but then I heard this one I am blown away. He really has a great album and talent. He just keeps getting better. My favorite song on this album would have to be ''The List.'' This song I feel captures the feelings that everyone goes through in life, especially right now with what is going on in our society. It reminds us to take the time and appreciate our life and all we have, and not be boggled down by all the little things. Several other great songs that really hit are ''Tryin to Matter'' and ''Forever Hasn't Got Here Yet.'' Both these songs focus on not giving up on love, and they are both just good heart felt songs. But he also ties in the fun with songs like ''I Wanna Talk About Me,'' which is a very fun song that talks to the male audience, and ''I'm Just Talkin About Tonight.'' This album is just so great, I just can't wait to see what is next for Toby Keith he has become an amazing performer and musician.

Wow!!!! This is a awesom cd. From beginning to end. Toby Keith's rich, deep, resonant voice just explodes. I can't get enough of it. Until now, he has been the most underrated singer/songwriter in country music. Finally people have opened their eyes (and ears.) It's about time!!! I've been a huge fan since the beginning and will continue to be. Go Toby!!!!
