The second book in the best-selling Legend trilogy comes to life in this vibrant graphic novel adaptation.

After escaping from the Republic's stronghold, Day and June are on the run in Vegas when the country learns that their Elector Primo has died and his son has stepped in to take his place. They meet up with the rebel stronghold of the Patriots—a large organization straddling the line between the Republic and its warring neighbor, the Colonies—and learn about an assassination plot against the Elector. Using threats and blackmail to get what he wants, the Patriots' leader, Razor, convinces June to let herself be captured by Republic soldiers so she can win over the Elector and feed him a decoy assassination plan. But when June realizes that the new Elector is nothing like his father, she must work with Day to try to stop the Patriots' plot before Razor can fulfill his own devastating plans.

Continuing on with the Legend series turned graphic novel...I was a little confused at the beginning, it seemed different than I had remembered. I've always been one who doesn't really care for the "catch up" type stuff at the beginning of books...but maybe I needed it in this case. I was thinking that things that were happening happened in the third book when I read the original novels. That was, of course, not the case and I was just getting ahead of myself. Once I remembered what I was reading it went much smoother. June and Day's story continues and regardless of my original confusion, does stay true to the original story line. There's a lot of emotion in this series and loss just as with any dystopian trilogy. I loved the illustrations and I think the characters where accurately portrayed. If you enjoyed the first graphic novel, or the original series, or if you enjoy graphic novels or dystopia in general, I think you will enjoy these books.

These two are adorable and I'm liking these graphic novels so far. That art style is definitely four stars. Its just so well drawn and expressive. I probably should read the books already.
