I bought my first prairie dog this past May, but before I did I researched as much as I could about them. At the time, I couldn't find any books about the care of prairie dogs as pets. I found this book on the author's web page. I found it to be very informative and helpful on a wide range of topics. There are a few questions it didn't really answer. For example, it tells you that your prairie dog can be potty trained, but doesn't really tell you how to do this. However, I really suggest this book if you have a prairie dog, or are looking to get one.
Mrs. Pat Storer is brilliant! One day I wandered upon her web-site, it's amazing all of the species of animals she and her family's raised! My personal favorites are her prairie dog stories. Her book prepares people for the up's and down's of prairie dog parenthood. 'Two thumbs up.' Great job, Mrs. Storer. (I'm a huge fan of prairie dogs, if there is any one else who is, please e-mail)
