I've found this book useful for someone who already has some music background. There are a few places I've found that it will pull in a term or ask you to do something not covered in the lessons that requires some previous knowledge or experience reading music. I took some piano as a child and read music in choir, so it was a good level for me. I just wanted to learn more about rhythms and chords, it has been helpful that way.

This theory book is the most accurate and very easy to understand . I would recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn about or review their music theory in full detail .

I studied intro to music theory in college over ten years ago and picking up this book was a great refresher. It got to the most important parts of music theory and each exercise builds on the previous lesson and repeats each lesson providing great reinforcement and retention. I highly recommend it.

As a voice teacher I found that this book was an excellent source to teach my students. The book is easy for the students to go through on their own and it starts off very simply. The book covers music theory up to general harmonizations. Her music flashcards are also great.

This book provides provides an enormous amount of information. The book covers all aspects of music, from rhythm, pitch, chord progressions, and sight reading. The book is written like you're taking the calss. There are tests on every topic, and answers in the back of the book. whether you're a beginner or advanced, I definitely believe this book would be a wise investment.

We ordered this book for our daughter because her violin instructor for private lessons recommended it. Our daughter does not receive music theory because she is home schooled. This book fills that gap in her education.

This workbook is arranged from very simple basics to the more complex. It addresses most musical theory topics in a concise manner, and has a review every 4th lesson. Good balance too. It's probably going to be more helpful as a fairly thorough review rather than something for the complete beginner, though, because there are some rules she missed that really need to be known. There are also a few mistakes in the typing of instructions, etc., but it doesn't really detract from its value in content.
