Overview

A toddler's graduation from diapers to the potty is always a very important moment--and one to make parents and toddlers proud! In this book, Henry needs to have his diaper changed so he can go out and play. Then Mom and Dad bring a big box home, and Henry is anxious to open it up and see what's inside. Is it a rocking chair? A bed for Teddy? No, it's a potty--which means it's time for Henry to graduate from diapers. This gentle and humorous little story is charmingly illustrated and told in verse. Little boys will enjoy looking at the pictures and having the story read to them. Meanwhile, they'll start getting the idea that it's time for them to grow up, exactly like Henry. So that at last, they'll be able to say: "I'm off to the potty, No more diapers for me! And I feel great, I am proud of ... ME! Here's a pleasant and effective new way to begin a child's toilet training. Barron's also publishes a potty book for a little girl, starring Hannah. (Ages 1-4)

My 2(almost 3) yr old son loved this book during potty training. We kept it in the bathroom and read it while he sat on the potty. He really enjoyed the inspiration the little boy in the story gives to the readers. It is a cute book.

Looked goofy on my Nook. Page count is glitchy. Not a good ebook.

My little boy has finally shown interest in sitting on the potty now that he sees Henry do it! He asks for the "Potty Book" every night now.

My son's grandma bought this book for my son and it 'did' help him with going and he would say, 'Daddy, I did it!'

My son loves this book, we read it at least once a day, and he gets so excited, he knows the book by heart. I agree with the above review--this is more geared for mom/dad households.

Nook version has text on top of text or covered by pictures. It makes it hard to read and impossible for a child to try and read.

This is a wonderful book for introducing your son to potty training. Other reviews complained about the pictures of toilet paper all over or spaghetti on the boy's head, but these were not relavant to the story and did not teach a bad lesson. The book rhymes well and has a good story. It starts with a boy that needs to have his diaper changed to go and play, and talks about how right now 'my diaper is where i pee and poop morning, noon, and night'. Then it transitions to using a potty like mom and dad, having an accident (which is ok), then having success, getting to pick out his own underwear, and finally going to play without a diaper. I especially like that it implies that the little boy decides to use the potty when he's ready - something like 'one morning I wake up and look at my teddy, I'm going to use the potty, i think this time I'm ready'. The only downfall is that it shows the boy using a training potty instead of the regular toilet (we don't use a training potty) but this was not confusing for my 2 1/2 year old. He loves the story and pictures and likes to wave bye-bye to his pee when he flushes, just like Henry in the story.

Great book for getting my last little boy interested in growing up and moving out of diapers. He liked it so much he's kept reading it for almost two years since he potty trained. He's finally ready to give it away now, so off to the library donations is goes.

Love the rhymes and pictures. My only complaint is that some of the text overlaps and one word is ommited and it took me a second to figure out what it was.
