Back in November of last year, I reviewed a great little book about Australia and it had all kinds of facts and fantastic pop ups which I loved. So when I got “Pop Up New York”, I was super excited and couldn’t wait to check it out. This book was just as wonderful and provided all kinds of interesting facts about New York. The book can be turned upside down too for even more facts. I’ve never seen a book with pop ups that are double sided and the back sides have tons of information too. Each page asks questions that I got to find answers to also. They really make the book feel like a game. Some of my favorite pops ups are the Stanton Island Fairy which can be moved along the page and the Yankee Stadium just because it’s really neat how you can look down into it. Although I had studied New York before, I still learned plenty of new things about the state from this book. I think this is a great way to learn about states because it’s fun which makes it easier to remember what you learn. Do you know why taxis are yellow? I do and if you’d like to then you should read this book too. This is really a great book for a wide age range. Little kids would like the pop-ups and even much older children will find it helpful for learning and remembering details. I give this book five stars!
