In the latest story of the Elder Races, two mates face their deadliest challenge yet—each other…

Pia and Dragos’s magical young son Liam (the Peanut), is growing at an unprecedented rate, and if that isn't enough, he is also exhibiting new, and unpredictable, magical gifts. To protect him, the concerned parents decide to move to upstate New York.

Both Dragos and Pia relish the idea of leaving behind the city. They finally have the space to indulge their Wyr side, and Liam can grow in safety. It’s a breath of fresh air—literally—but their idyllic situation is shattered when Dragos is injured in a freak accident.

Stripped of his memory and bereft of Pia’s taming influence, there’s nothing holding back Dragos’s darkest side. And in order to restore her family and save her mate, Pia must confront the most powerful menace in Elder Races history.

It’s going to take more than a penny to fix this…

PIA SAVES THE DAY is part of a three-story series about Pia, Dragos, and Peanut. Each story stands alone, but fans might want to read all three: DRAGOS TAKES A HOLIDAY, PIA SAVES THE DAY, and PEANUT GOES TO SCHOOL.

By far my favorite characters of the elder races (favorite characters EVER!?) and I can never get enough of them. This was a great short story and of course always interesting with this pair. My only complaint would be I wish it was much longer (novel please)!

Yea! I love that Thea Harrison continues to give us more of Pia, Dragos and Peanut. I'm not sure I can explain it but these characters are just fun for me to read. I like this paranormal world that Thea crafted which is just pure escapism for me. In this installment Pia has to really step up, she has always been incredibly strong (she stood up to a dragon) but now she has to be fearless to save her family and love after a construction accident. It was fun to watch Dragos and Pia find that love again but nerve wracking at the same time. Another hit!

Thea Harrison's world-building remains fabulous and any reader who enjoys steamy paranormal (with a sense of humor) should have her Elder Races books in their personal library.

Another Pia-Dragos winner! I gobbled like brain chocolate - read it twice already. I think Dragos needs a daughter!

Pia Saves the Day by Thea Harrison is a another wonderful novella in her Elder Races series. This is the second novella in her three part arc, which revolves around Pia, Dragos and their young son Peanut (Liam). I really enjoyed the first one, Dragos Takes a Holiday, and I could not wait to read this. Writing a review on novella’s can be difficult, as it is a short story and telling too much would be spoilers. The focus of this story begins with the family moving upstate NY, to give them more space, privacy, and security. We immediately spend time with Dragos, Pia and Peanut, and seeing them together always makes me happy. They remain as my favorite couple of this series, though I love many others in this series . With a lot of construction ongoing in the surrounding area, Dragos is at the site when there is an accident. Pia hearing the sound of the boom, knows something is wrong and runs to the site. In her panic, she doesn’t see Dragos and fears the worst. Then to her relief, in his Dragon form he bursts out of the bottom of the deep pit. But all is not well. Dragos has lost his memory, becoming a danger to all that he loves, including his wonderful mate , Pia. This was a wonderfully done story, with Pia taking control, as well as dangerous chances, in trying to bring her beloved Dragos back. Thea did a super job of allowing us another chance to see the love between Dragos and Pia. I also love the camaraderie of others like Eva, Graydon, and the other sentinels, who show their respect and love for Pia. I loved every moment of this novella. Generally I’m not always a big fan of short stories, but Thea Harrison does it so well allowing us to get our fix, spending time with all of our favorites from this series. This way it isn’t too long before we get the next full novel. Thank you Thea, for giving us more of our Elder Races, and also a wonderful story.

The Elder Races Series is on my top 5 list for favorite series. It may well be my top favorite series. If you haven't started this series, I recommend you read them in order. This particular book is second in a trilogy of short novels and is about the relationship between Pia and Dragos. Visit Thea Harrison's website for a list of the books in order. The only thing I can say negative about this story is that it's too short, but then again I wish all of Thea's books could be longer.

I never settled into this short story. The opening is so lovely with father and child. Then, something awful happens. I simply didn't like the event which isn't fair but is true.  It made for a good plot and a good twist into the larger story arc of the series but didn't capture me.  Worth the read for any fan of the series though!

PIA SAVES THE DAY is the latest novella in Thea Harrison’s adult, paranormal Elder Races and book number two in the novella trilogy focusing on Dragos, Pia and Liam Cuelebre’s small family unit. With Liam’s excelerated growth rate, Dragos will be moving his young family to upstate New York allowing Liam (aka Peanut) his much needed freedom to explore and learn-after all, he is a dragon shifter –and what little dragon doesn’t need open air and places to fly. But an accident will put everything into perspective when Pia finds herself alone with a dragon who no longer knows that she is his mate, and everything and everyone has become a threat. Thea Harrison pulls the reader into a story about one family’s struggle with the possibility that their father (and mate) may never be the same. We watch as Dragos denies those closest to his heart and in doing so places everyone in danger from their enemies and himself. PIA SAVES THE DAY is a quick and simple read.   It is a story of romance, love, togetherness, rediscovery and family. The storyline takes place approximately fourteen months from the very first instalment- DRAGON BOUND- and fast forwards Liam’s growth so that he is ready, willing and able to take his first step into the world of kindergarten and his next adventure in PEANUT GOES TO SCHOOL-July 2014. The secondary characters are limited to Graydon, Hugh and Eva. The Sentinels are placed on high alert preparing for an attack from outside and from within but in the end, Pia is the only one who is able to connect with one of the most powerful supernatural creatures of the paranormal world.  The focus of this trilogy is on the family and the usual threats and warrior Sentinels are few and far between.

I love Pia and Dragos. When Dragos is injured in a freak accident, he has no recollention of who he is or who Pia is. He comes roaring out in his dragon form and flies away. Pia manages to follow him and is able to talk with him when he changes back to his human form. His dragon side does not trust any one; but something about Pia... This was a fast, easy read. I love The Elder Races series

~ 4.5 Pia Saves Stars ~ Another Amazing novella. Pia Saves the Day is #6.6 in the Elder Races series by Thea Harrison. I just love this series! Dragos and Pia always have some kind of adventure that enders them to me even more then the first time I read about them in Dragon Bound.  In this little adventure Dragos is injured in an accident and losses his memory. When he comes around he’s a dragon and Pia has to watch as her mate fly’s away after he tries to attack her. Ms. Harrison does a wonderful job pulling my heartstrings and making me fall in love with Dragos and Pia all over again. I was pulled in from the first page and taken on an emotional wild run. Pia shows such courage and fortitude that she outshines Dragos. Even though Dragos does not remember Pia he still wants her in every way. I enjoyed seeing such established characters engage as if they first met. This was a sweet, sad, sexy, journey! Peanut only makes a small appearance, which is ok, because he gets his own little novel in Peanut Goes to School, that I can’t wait to get reading. Fans of the Elder Races series will not want to miss Pia Saves the Day. It is an emotional journey for Pia and Dragos and one I enjoyed immensely.

I love any story that includes Dragos, Pia and Liam (aka Peanut). Seriously they are some of my favorite characters ever. Pia Saves the Day was a very emotional read for me. I've loved Dragos and Pia as a couple from their very first book. After Dragos loses his memory, Pia is the only one who can try and help Dragos remember his past. While it broke my heart that Pia was hurt by Dragos's loss of memory, it was so wonderful to watch Dragos realize Pia was his mate again.  I think the hardest scene for me to read in the entire book was Pia having to say goodbye to Liam to protect him. I love how connected Liam is to both his parents, but especially his mama. Pia Saves the Day is another winner in the Elder Races stories and I can't wait for the next novella in this trilogy to come out in July.

Can true love overcome amnesia?  Harrison once again amazes with this dazzling novella length story...and boy does it pack a punch. We are pulled through the gambit of emotions as Pia tries to reconnect to the man she loves. There is no other way to describe Harrison's writing but to say it is magical. Her purely fictional, shape shifting characters jump off the page and climb right into your heart.  I can't wait to see where we will be taken next...talk is we are heading to 1st grade with Peanut.

Fans of Thea Harrison's Elder Races Series: Prepare to be blown away! PIA SAVES THE DAY by Thea Harrison proves once again that Thea is a master storyteller. She takes the genre of paranormal romance to a new high with each new release. I am admittedly a HUGE FAN of her Elder Races series and my favorite characters, Dragos, Pia and Liam aka Peanut are featured in this tale. Their relationship has been the stalwart cornerstone romance in this series and this book throws in a heart-lurching tilt!  Check out my full review at Reading Between the Wines Book Club.
