I purchased this book to assist me in understanding the elements of philosophy that are important to writing a critical essay for my college writing class. I gave me a quick understanding of the different elements that philosophers use to persuade others to one point of view. The book was not written for that purpose but was a good resource in addressing the different ways people defend their point of view; and how to address their concerns using the different elements of philosophy such as ethos, logos and pathos. It was a great help. Written in a way that everyone could understand.
