One of six in ABDO's "Issues in Sports" series, this 64-page book describes what performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) are, what they do to the human body, and why many are banned at both the professional level and also in high schools.  Many professional athletes in a variety of sports are profiled, including Lance Armstrong and Alex Rodriguez, both in sidebars and in the body of the text.  Large color photos complement the chapters. The yellow and orange color scheme both on the cover and the pages works well with the topic.  Discussion questions, glossary, and index are included.  Although a topic of interest to teens, I don't see this as a book they will likely check out.
