"This is what happened since Momma died. . . ." So begins this tale, told through the eyes of precocious 12-year-old Becca Jenkins, of an Appalachian mountain family rocked by tragedy. It's Christmas - the first since the death of their mother - and Becca and her four siblings must somehow find a way to draw their father out of his crippling grief. At the height of their hopelessness, Becca and her brothers and sisters, aided by their wise Grammy, devise a plan to help Papa, and themselves, through a troubled time.
