Our day out is the hectic play about the trip of the progress class. At the core of the play lies the contrast between Mr Briggs and Mrs Kay. The play deals with the struggles of Carol who is a girl who is deprived of an education and Briggs helps her. I have read the book and seen the film but I have enjoyed the book more as we can see what type of language the people use. The language used is slang and dialect, which shows the lack of education in that area.

I recently read the story Our day out by Willy Russell it was about a school trip to Conway Castle and a moody teacher called Briggs who hates all the kids and alot of the teachers he was a bit nicer towards them through the story on and off but the kids ended up doing something wrong and got into trouble from Briggs and towards Carol Miller threatens to jump off the cliff briggs catches her and then they go to the fair when they get back to school Briggs smartens himself up and looks normal again Mrs. Kay gives him the pictures of him enjoying himself at the fair. The story was quite good and the video was good aswell.
