Overview

The Laurel Highlands seem idyllic, but for Jim Duncan they're anything but.

Welcome to Fayette County, PA known affectionately to some locals as "Fayette-nam." It's a place that boasts breathtaking scenery - and heartbreaking crime. In this collection of stories, a young divorcee, a politician's wife, a local baseball star, the head of the local 4-H, and an up-and-coming brewmaster have one thing in common. They're all dead, murdered by person, or persons, unknown.

It's up to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper First Class Jim Duncan to investigate each crime to find the guilty party. Just a divorced guy with a dog, he's aided by Fayette County assistant public defender Sally Castle. A woman with her own code whose interest in Duncan may rise above the level of purely professional.

Murder Most Scenic brings together the following stories

An Idlyllic Place for Murder
Death & Politics
Fatal Frost (new for this collection)
Batter Down
Dead of Summer
A Brew to Die For

About the Author

Liz Milliron is the crime fiction pen name for Mary Sutton.

Mary has been making up stories, and creating her own endings for other people's stories, for as long as she can remember. After ten years, she decided that making things up was far more satisfying than writing software manuals, and took the jump into fiction.

She writes the HERO'S SWORD middle-grade fantasy series as M.E. Sutton and finds a lot of inspiration in the lives of her own kids. A lifelong mystery fan, she also writes crime fiction, including THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS MYSTERIES, under the pen name Liz Milliron. Her short fiction has been published at Uppagus.com, Mystericale.com, and in LUCKY CHARMS: 12 CRIME TALES (December 2013).

Like her LAUREL HIGHLANDS characters, Mary lives in Southwestern PA (but, unfortunately, she doesn't have a dog). She is a member of Sisters in Crime.
