Overview

Writing a cookbook for people who love good food has been a lifelong dream for me—and I’m so happy to be sharing some of our family’s favorite recipes with you! In this book you’ll find everything from Jase’s Favorite Sweet Potato Pie to Phil’s own special recipes, like his scrumptious Crawfish Fettuccine. There’s “girly” food for a gathering of your best girlfriends, like Aunt Judy’s Cranberry Salad, as well as dishes straight from the hunt like Boiled Squirrel and Dumplings.

In addition to more than one hundred specially chosen recipes, I’ve included old family snapshots of the days before the Duck Dynasty® series on A&E® and stories of our family and how we live. The dinner table has long been one of our favorite places for telling stories, and there’s always competition to see who can dish out the wildest story. We believe that food and cooking bring people together—it’s brought our family together for generations, and it can do the same for yours. Gather your family around the table and serve up delicious home-cooked meals with recipes like . . .

• Willie’s Famous Chicken Strips
• Melt-in-Your-Mouth Biscuits
• Cheesy Corn Casserole
• Fresh Strawberry Pie
• Best Brisket Ever
• Crawfish Balls
• Creamy Green Grape Salad
• Papaw Phil’s Homemade Ice Cream

Join with our family as we create lasting family traditions that will warm the hearts and bellies of those you love. Let’s do it together.

Made the Spoon Butter Bread tonight, amazing, just amazing, like a cross between a moist biscuit and a soft fluffy dinner roll! A serious winner in my families opinion. And you can make it and refrigerate it, scoop it out and bake it in portions for more or less people. Had lentils to go with, the bread just got better as we ate!

I do love cookbooks!! But, if they are written with a story in them, they become even better!! Miss Kay tells little stories amoungst her recipes. The cookbook has some very good recipes, practical. It wasn't at all what I expected, but it was a delight to read with very tasteful recipes sure to please!!!

I grew up on southern cooking and these recipes remind me of my grandmothers cooking. Made the egg custard pie for New Years Day and it was yummy. I've tried several recipes for egg custard pie and this one is by far the best. Can't wait to try more of Miss Kays recipes. Love Duck Dynasty and I love this book.

Loved the cookbook but there are recipes with missing info such as what temperature to cook something or what size pan to use.

I received this cookbook at a Christmas present.  I flipped through it as soon as I opened it on Christmas morning.   I then made the sweet potato casserole for Christmas dinner.  It was incredible!  Our family loved it!  Love this cookbook!

I'm a HUGE fan of 'Duck Dynasty', and I discovered the television show by reading Willie's and Korie's first book. I fell in love with the Robertson clan and I read just about anything they write. However, "Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen" is at the top of my favorites list! This is far more than a mere cookbook, although you will find some scrumptious (and unusual) recipes in the pages. Kay Robertson puts her heart and soul into everything she does, and she's done so with her cookbook. Inside the pages of "Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen" you'll find photos of family and friends, many I've never seen before and a few that have become old favorites. Some of the recipes come with family stories and all of the recipes come with a love note from Miss Kay. Each recipe section opens with a brief introduction from Miss Kay, either describing the people she's made these dishes for, or memories attached to certain foods. And I've never read a sweeter book dedication than the one Miss Kay wrote for her cookbook. "Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen" is a keepsake cookbook that I'm certain the Robertson family treasures, and I know it's become one of my treasured cookbooks as well. With Christmas looming mere months away, put this on your wish list, or get a copy for your foodie friends. "Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen" is published by Howard Publishing and co-authored with Chrys Howard (Korie's mom), and is available in bookstores and online wherever books are sold!

This book offers a diverse variety of recipes.  Some are basic, old-fashioned recipes; some are definitely "their" recipes.  I really like how it's divided into sections with comments and pictures about individual family members.  I've tried a few recipes and so far, they're all good.

I enjoyed this recipe book a lot, mainly because of the stories Miss Kay shared about her family, but also because most of the recipes were regular weekly and holiday meals my family enjoys. This is not a book of just wild game recipes. There are some, but it's a very small part. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are a Duck Dynasty fan.
